FISHERS — A second Republican candidate has announced plans to run for the Indiana House seat  currently held by retiring Speaker of the House Brian Bosma.

Chris Jeter, a Fishers lawyer and Iraq war veteran, announced plans to run for the seat on Wednesday, Jan. 15. He will be opposing former Fishers deputy mayor Leah McGrath to represent the district, which includes small portions of Hancock County.

“I want to continue to advance economic opportunity, create jobs, reform education and maintain our state’s status as the best place in the nation to start and run a business. I look forward to traveling the district and sharing my vision of Indiana’s next chapter,” Jeter said.

Indiana’s primary elections will be held on May 5.
