Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of chrisjeter.com (the "Site") and the communications offered through it, including our email and text messaging programs. The Site and these communications are provided by Jeter for Indiana, the candidate committee supporting Chris Jeter for Indiana House District 88. By using the Site, submitting a form, or signing up for our communications, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or sign up for our communications.

2. Eligibility

The Site and our communications are intended for individuals who are at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in their state, and who are residents of the United States. By using the Site or opting in to our communications, you confirm that you meet these requirements and that any information you provide is accurate and your own.

3. Text messaging (SMS) program terms

This section describes our text messaging program. By providing your mobile number and checking the SMS consent box on our forms, you agree to these terms.

  • Program description. When you opt in, you will receive campaign text messages from Jeter for Indiana, including campaign updates, news, event information, volunteer and get-out-the-vote outreach, and similar messages.
  • Consent is not a condition. Your consent to receive text messages is not a condition of making any donation, signing up to volunteer, or taking any other action.
  • Message frequency. Message frequency varies.
  • Costs. Message and data rates may apply, according to the plan you have with your wireless carrier. You are responsible for any charges from your carrier.
  • How to opt out. Reply STOP to any message at any time to stop receiving texts. After you reply STOP, you may receive a single confirmation message acknowledging your opt-out. You can also contact us using the details in Section 11.
  • How to get help. Reply HELP to any message for help, or contact us using the details in Section 11.
  • Supported carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. We do not guarantee that messages will be delivered, and delivery depends on factors outside our control, including your carrier and device.
  • Privacy. Your mobile information and your consent to receive text messages are handled as described in our Privacy Policy, and are not shared with or sold to any third party for that third party's own marketing.

4. Email communications

If you opt in to email, you will receive campaign emails from Jeter for Indiana. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by contacting us using the details in Section 11.

5. Intellectual property

The content on this Site, including text, graphics, logos, images, and the campaign name and marks, is owned by or licensed to Jeter for Indiana and is protected by applicable law. You may view and share Site content for lawful, non-commercial, personal, or campaign-supportive purposes. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or use Site content for commercial purposes, or in any way that suggests the campaign endorses you or your views, without our permission.

6. Acceptable use

When using the Site or our communications, you agree not to:

  • Use them for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information, or impersonate another person
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or its systems
  • Use automated means to scrape, harvest, or collect information from the Site
  • Upload or transmit any harmful code, or any content that is unlawful, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site or our communications if you violate these Terms.

7. Disclaimers

The Site and our communications are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any information on the Site is complete or current.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jeter for Indiana and its officers, volunteers, vendors, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the Site or our communications, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

9. Links to third-party sites

The Site may contain links to third-party websites or services that we do not own or control, such as donation processors, social media platforms, or news sources. We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of those third-party sites. Visiting a linked site is at your own risk, and that site's own terms and privacy policy will apply.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site or our communications after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute relating to the Site or our communications will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Indiana, to the extent permitted by law.
